CLP entered the Australian market in the early 2000s. In 2011, we completed the acquisition of the retail business of EnergyAustralia in New South Wales. As one of Australia’s largest integrated energy companies, EnergyAustralia operates a well-balanced portfolio of owned and contracted generation assets, including coal-fired and gas-fired power stations, as well as renewable and new energy solutions such as wind, solar, and energy storage systems.
As at 30 June 2025, EnergyAustralia’s total generation and storage capacity, including long-term power purchase agreements, reached 5,787 megawatts. EnergyAustralia also provides electricity and gas retail services to approximately 2.33 million customers across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, and Queensland.
