Mainland China

CLP Group entered the mainland power market as early as 1979 to meet the energy demands driven by China's rapid economic growth. Today, CLP has become one of the largest foreign-invested enterprises in China's energy sector, committed to developing clean and low-carbon energy solutions

Over the past four decades, CLP has been actively involved in the development, construction, and operation of power generation projects in Mainland China to meet the country’s rapidly growing energy demand. Today, CLP has investments in more than 50 power generation projects across 14 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, spanning a diversified energy mix that includes nuclear, wind, solar, hydro, and coal-fired power.

As at 30 June 2025, CLP’s total attributable generation and energy storage capacity in Mainland China amounted to 7,978 megawatts, with more than 70% derived from zero-carbon energy. CLP remains firmly committed to supporting China’s “dual carbon” goals of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.

CLP will continue to deepen strategic partnerships with leading domestic energy companies, sharing our technical expertise and best-in-class management practices with industry peers. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and are dedicated to enhancing community well-being in the regions where we operate.

CLP China Energy focuses on providing customers with integrated energy infrastructure and “Energy-as-a-Service” solutions, including district cooling and heating, compressed air systems, distributed solar generation, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, to address the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in Mainland China.
